Giant Pocket Watch Flies Over Runway

Date: July 3, 1947

Location: Naval Auxiliary Landing Field, Santa Rosa, CA

A trained observer from the Naval Auxiliary, name withheld by newspaper and confirmed by Dr. R.W. Nelson, civilian dentist, observed an object shaped like a giant pocket watch colored like aluminum about 15' to 20' in diameter, about 1,000' above main runway,

It moved north to end of runway, turned east banking, headed toward Santa Rosa.
